Hexagon is back!

A few years ago, several modeling programs burst on the scene. They were Hexagon, Silo, and Modo. I downloaded each program, and gave them a test run. I wanted to teach myself how to model in 3D. After playing with each app, I decided on Hexagon. For what ever reason, it was just easier for me to learn. The tutorials were straight forward, and everything just clicked.
After a few updates, the company that introduced Hexagon (evoia), sold several of their programs to Daz3d. Several of the programs continued to thrive, while others; Hexagon, kind of fell by the way side. So did my thirst for learning 3D modeling. I've been able to model most of the objects I've needed in other programs, but I've always wanted to get back to Hexagon. So for years, I've checked and re-checked the Daz3d community forums for any updates on Hexagon ... at least a version of Hexagon that would work on my IMac.
Today was a day just like every other; at least in terms of checking Daz3d for updates on Hexagon. Guess what ... a beta version of an upcoming update for current Hexagon owners is in the works. I downloaded the beta and it works. I'm sure there are bugs that need to be worked out, but so far no crashes, and the application doesn't get hung up. I'm really excited about this!
The nearest 3D modeling program that I've found that feels like Hexagon is AC3D ... very simple and very powerful. It's UV tools are superior to Hexagons too. Learning AC3D just hasn't capture my heart like "Hex" did all those years ago. I will re-do the tutorials that come with Hexagon this week. If I can grasp what I did a few years ago, then I'll make Hexagon my main modeling program, and use Messiah for rendering and texturing.

Okay so the above pic is one of the Elder Race beings that will be featured in my upcoming foray into the Sword and Soul genre. Agbon.

What do you know about Sound?

Askari Unpa employs his sound bending capabilities for a number of effects. He can create small personal shields, or generate massive barriers strong enough to protect entire city-blocks. Most forms of conventional weaponry are incapable of penetrating Askari Unpa's wave-length constructs. Askari Unpa is the Supreme Commander of the Ma'atan Code (Neter Army), and as such, he is no stranger to combat. There is no size or shape that he can not fathom, hence his AOS Arsenal-of-Sound, is nearly limitless. read more

This magnificent painting was created by Master Artist Aaron Douglas. He completed this piece in 1944. Its entitled, "Building More Stately Mansions". I wanted to use this brilliant painting as the cover for my first novel. HERE. Look at it, then read the synopsis to my novel. Talk about a perfect fit. I'm getting ready to publish, "Retro-KM: Lord of the LandLords" as a Kindle ebook. Perhaps I can still make my wish come true...
